September has been a busy month, with writing and preparation for launch, travel and hiking.
On the writing side I’ve been working towards the launch of Books 1 and 2 of the Beginning Series. Some challenges with my website and getting everything ready. This has meant that my 1st October launch date is now 1st November. I’ve also signed-off the completed book trailer video for the Defector and I’m very happy with it. Book 5 of the Andy Flint Series is now just over 50,000 words and progressing nicely. I’ve made a few changes to they way I’d originally plotted, however, it’s even better (Let’s see what my Beta Readers say). Also while in Napier I used the time to look at a location for part of a spin off-series. This spin off is some way away as I’ve quite a few more Andy Flint novels in the pipeline before I branch out.
On the travel side, this month I’ve been in Palmerston North, had a weekend in Auckland to watch the last show in Hugh Jackman’s World Tour and spent a few days in Napier. Hugh Jackman’s show was excellent and he’s a great entertainer and had quite a career. The show was programmed for 2 hours and went on for 3. I also had a weekend tramping (hiking) in the Tararuas and tried out my new bivvy bag to sleep in overnight. I wanted to know about the pro’s, con’s and any issues before I may have to use it in anger.
It’s also spring in New Zealand and the bulbs are starting to bloom. So on the occasional warm evening, it’s been great to enjoy a cool beer in the warm spring sunshine.
